Grounding, what is it and why is it important?
With Jacquelene Close Moore
Being grounded is to be fully present, being grounded helps you fend off people's attitudes, negative thoughts and energies while remaining clear in who you are, what you are about, and secure, -rock solid about that - even when under fire from others.
Being grounded helps you remain confident in the moment, even if people try to trip you up, and it helps you keep your trajectory and goals in life on track, rather than allowing others to have the power in your life. Being grounded also helps you remain positive and energized, not distracted and easily discouraged by others.
Keeping up your 'chi' or life force energy levels is also extremely important in regards to staying grounded, hence the saying that "If the carer isn't carer or the carer cannot care." (Because the carer must look after themselves in order to be able to help others).
Feeling ungrounded is where you feel:-
Floaty, light headed, vague, not able to focus and a sudden lack in energy and enthusiasm.
Note:- There can also be legitimate medical, and even neurological reasons why you may feel 'floaty' and light headed, so it is a good idea to rule out the logical, practical, medical possibilities.
That said, there are also exercises you can also compliment common sense to help you feel more fully present.
Activities that deplete physical energy and mental energy:-
Over working (mentally), Over thinking ( and emotionally), Over or under exercising, focusing negatively on yourself or over focusing others via insecurity, fast foods, insufficient or excessive food, insufficient hydration, obsessing on the past or future. Indulging in unhelpful attitudes, patterns, and activities.
Note, that eclipses can also affect people's energy levels. (See here for more info) which, some people are still feeling the affects of.
Other things that can affect your clarity:-
If you are working on a lot of logical, intellectual, and cereberal type of activities, make sure to also get out and away from the computer and take a walk and get some fresh air. Avoid allowing your emotions to rule situations, and if you are feeling emotional, step back and take time out to work out whether what your are thinking and doing is rational.
Things you can do to ground yourself:-
Focus on what is really important in the here and now, Get off social media for a couple of days, step away from your PC!, Go out and take a walk in nature, sit by the beach, or walk in the forest, feel your bare feet squishing in the grass... Do things that rebuild your physical, mental and emotional energy. Thinking positive, making action plans and taking action, making and completing daily lists, Gentle exercise, or a brisk walk depending on your energy levels, weeding the garden, drumming, a cup of coffee, cooking, baking, eating hearty meals, organic foods, root vegetables, finger painting, pottery, dance. Also helpful can be earthy- physical based yoga, before stepping out of bed in the morning- focusing on your base chakra- and then start your day, keeping up your fluid intake, getting sufficient rest and sleep, having a jotter next to your bed to note down all those extra tasks you invent for yourself before going to sleep so that you can write them down and let them go til the morning so that you can drift to sleep having let go. Avoid perfectionism or taking on way too many things at once. Stop and smell the roses, even better if they are red.
Remember, Mercury goes stationery then direct over this weekend, (October 26/ 27th 2014) after which greater clarity should present in much of what has been revealed over the last couple of months. Reflection can help you utilize this next couple of weeks to achieve more natural and better suited long term outcomes.
Best wishes and much love
